Awareness programme on coastal agriculture under SCSP at Talluru village, Udupi, Karnataka
An awareness programme was conducted for farmers of Talluru village, Udupi coastal district, Karnataka under the SCSP scheme on 14 June 2025. The event focused on enhancing farmer activities and promoting new initiatives in agriculture and allied sectors. A total of 25 farmers (20 women) participated in the programme. Dr. Sreekanth G. B., Senior Scientist (FRM), ICAR-CCARI, Goa, briefed the farmers on the institute’s mandate and shared information about the technologies and package of practices developed by CCARI in the fields of agriculture, livestock, and fisheries. During the interaction, farmers highlighted the need for support in backyard poultry and requested seedlings of vegetables and plants suitable for homestead gardens as inputs for their farming systems. The participants appreciated the efforts of the institute and expressed their sincere gratitude for the outreach and support extended to their village. The programme also witnessed the presence of Shri Ravi Kharvi, a nationally awarded progressive fish farmer from Kundapura, who shared his experiences with the participants.
