ICAR-KVK, North Goa Organizes Capacity Building Programme on Millet Production and Distributes Agricultural Inputs

 

The ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), North Goa, under ICAR – CCARI, Goa, organized a Capacity Building Programme on Enhanced Millet Production and Input Distribution on 22^nd July 2025 at Parcem Panchayat, Pernem. Aimed at equipping farmers with scientific knowledge and timely inputs, the event featured an inaugural session with a welcome by Shri Rahul Kumar (SMS, Agronomy), a briefing by Dr. Sanjaykumar V. Udharwar (Head In-charge, KVK), and an address by Chief Guest Shri Ajay Kalangutkar, Sarpanch of Parcem Panchayat. Inputs including quality millet seed materials was distributed to selected farmers to support the upcoming cropping season.

    The technical session included expert talks on improved agronomic practices, seed treatment using Bijamrut, pest and disease management, and the use of millet byproducts in animal feed, delivered by Shri Rahul Kumar, Shri Rahul Kulkarni (ACTO), and Dr. Dr. Sanjaykumar V. Udharwar. The event concluded with an interactive farmer-scientist interaction session. The programme was coordinated by Shri Rahul Kumar, Shri Rahul Kulkarni (ACTO), and Dr. Sanjaykumar V. Udharwar, Dr. Nivya K R, Shri Vishwajeet Prajapati, and Shri Aishwar Kumar Tiwari, the programme reflected ICAR-KVK’s commitment to sustainable agriculture and millet promotion under the "Shree Anna" initiative. The programme was attended by 10 farmers, including 8 male and 2 female participants.
