The second meeting of the X Research Advisory Committee (RAC) of ICAR-CCARI held during 08-09 May, 2025
The second meeting of the X Research Advisory Committee (RAC) was held at ICAR-CCARI, Goa from 8-9 May 2025 in hybrid mode. The meeting was chaired by Dr. S. D. Sawant (Former Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Balasaheb Sawant Konkan Krishi Vidyapeeth, Dapoli, Maharashtra) and attended physically by the RAC members: Dr. Grinson George (Director, ICAR-CMFRI, Kerala), Dr. Manoj P. Samuel (Executive Director, Centre for Water Resources Development and Management, Kerala), Dr. Raj Kumar Gautam (Principal Scientist & Head, ICAR-NBPGR, New Delhi), Dr. Parveen Kumar (Director, ICAR-CCARI, Goa) and Member Secretary Dr. Shirish D. Narnaware (Senior Scientist, ICAR-CCARI, Goa). The other RAC members Dr. V. Sejian (Dean, Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Veterinary Education & Research, Puducherry) and Dr. S. Vennila (Ex-Principal Scientist, ICAR- NCIPM, New Delhi) joined the meeting in online mode.
On the first day, the RAC team, institute Director, and the scientific and technical staff of ICAR-CCARI, Goa visited the various Scheduled Tribe Component (STC) outreach activities, and cage culture and crab culture outreach and transfer of technology sites of the Institute at South Goa.
On the second day, the RAC meeting started at 9.30 am in Dr. Verghese Kurien Meeting Hall of ICAR-CCARI, Goa. Dr. Parveen Kumar, Director, ICAR-CCARI, Goa during his welcome address outlined the ICAR-CCARI’s major achievements during the last year. Dr. Shirish D. Narnaware, Member Secretary, RAC presented the action taken report on the recommendations of the previous RAC. This was followed by the presentations of sectional in-charges, activities of KVK, Agro-ecotourism, ABI, ITMU, SCSP and STC. Each presentation was followed by detailed deliberations and comments from the Chairman and members of the RAC. The Chairman and members RAC appreciated the outstanding research work conducted by the institute. In the plenary session, the Chairman and members of RAC have given their valuable feedbacks about the on-going projects and provided suggestions to have visible impacts.
